Kohlrabi Blaro
Brassica oleracea var. gongylodes
Red kohlrabi, suitable for outdoor production. It makes slightly flat, medium-sized kohlrabies with a red-violet skin and a lihgt and buttery meat. It grows quickly and survives the temperatures to -5 °C.
Kohlrabies can be sown throughout the year but they do poorly in droughts as they ripen too fast. It is best to sow them early in the spring for harvest in spring and early summer or sowing in late summer for harvest in autumn.
