Brassica rapa var. chinensis

 

Asian vegetable, similar to Chinese cabbage. It makes wide, white stems with big, round, dark green leaves. It grows up to 50 cm.

 

Asian vegetables (brassica) is sown and cut as a salad that is cut. It can also make rosettes. The plants are resistant to cold, therefore they are sown in late summer or autumn and harvested throughout the winter. It is suitable for cultivation in greenhouses or outside.

 

They can be used fresh in salads or sandwiches, or they can be cooked like spinach. The taste is similar to Chinese cabbage.
