Brassica rapa L. var. rapa
Round turnip with white skin at the bottom and violet at the top and white meat. It is Slovene autochthonous variety of turnip.
Turnip is usually consumed as sour turnip - grated and acidified (fermented). It can also be eaten raw, for example on a salad or put in brine (smaller turnips are inserted whole, while larger ones are cut into cubes).
