Mediterranean gourmet type of vegetable.

A perennial plant that must be protected from frost in winter. We recommend sowing it in pots which can be transfered indoors or greenhouses in the winter. It first blooms in the second growing year. We pick flower buds - just before blooming.

Artichoke leaves can also be used in teas.

Plants grow into big shrubs so we have to give them enough space - we plant them 1 m apart.
