Green pea Kleine Rheinländerin
Pisum sativum L.
A low variety of peas (it grows to about 40 cm tall) ,with dark green, medium-long pods. It does not need support as it grows bushy, but can be supported by twigs.
If the peas are to be harvested for young peas, they must be sown one grain every 10 cm, otherwise sow one grain every 5 cm. It can also be sown between potatoes.
Peas can be sown in early spring (March), as they withstand cold well. It is also possible to sow in autumn (September, October), harvesting the crop in early spring. The leaves of peas are also edible and very tasty and can be prepared in the same way as lettuce.
