Kale Nero di Toscana
Brassica oleracea var. salbellica
Kale that makes long and narrow dark green leaves on a strong and high stem.
It contains an extraordinary amount of minerals, and it reaches its best value when saline starts. It can be grown throughtout the year, even in autumn and is then harvested in winter. It tolerates very low temperatures.
It can be used in the same way as savoy cabbage - half-cooked or cooked.
