Sugar pea Ambrosia
Pisum sativum L.
A medium-high variety of peas (70cm), with dark green, medium-long pods. It can be supported by mesh. Sugar peas have a sweeter taste and can be used both for the grain and for the pod, as the pods are soft, like those of green beans.
This peas are to be harvested for young peas, so they must be sown one grain every 10 cm. It can also be sown between potatoes.
Peas can be sown in early spring (March), as they withstand cold well. It is also possible to sow in autumn (September, October), harvesting the crop in early spring. The leaves of peas are also edible and very tasty and can be prepared in the same way as lettuce.
